Salvador M. Borraccia is a Tax Specialist at GO LLP. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Mr. Borraccia practiced tax as a lawyer with the federal Department of Justice (1973-1975) and then with the Toronto office of a large multinational law firm (1975-2014). He has acted as trial and appellate counsel on a wide variety of matters before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada including through the audit and administrative appeals process and in competent authority negotiations under Canada's tax treaties. Mr. Borraccia has represented taxpayers in negotiations for advance income tax rulings and advance pricing agreements.
In addition to acting to resolve disputes for his clients with tax authorities, his practice focuses on corporate and international tax issues. These include tax planning and negotiations related to the purchase and sale of businesses, corporate reorganizations, corporate finance, e-commerce, transfer pricing and structuring foreign investments into and out of Canada. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Bar Association, and Canadian Tax Foundation.
Mr. Borraccia is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School; Queen's University and the University of Toronto.
